Free website evaluation
Score your site across 8 areas, get a prioritised fix list — answered by you, calculated here, nothing sent anywhereThis is an honest self-assessment, not a crawler. A browser cannot inspect another site's server, analytics or backlinks without permission, so instead of inventing numbers it asks you what is actually in place and scores it against how real buyers judge a business site. Takes about three minutes.
Run a real performance audit — on your own machine
Lighthouse is built into Chrome. It is the same engine the online scanners call, so running it yourself gives you the identical report with no API key, no quota and no third party seeing the URL. It measures the page as your device and connection experience it, which is the number that actually matters.
- Open the page you want to measure in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Open DevTools — F12, or Ctrl+Shift+I (⌘+⌥+I on a Mac).
- Pick the Lighthouse tab. If you cannot see it, use the » overflow arrow at the end of the tab strip.
- Choose Mobile and tick Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO. Mobile first: it is the slower profile and the one Google indexes with.
- Click Analyze page load. It takes 20–40 seconds and reloads the page.
Read it in this order: Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, then Total Blocking Time — those three are the Core Web Vitals Google ranks on. Work the Opportunities list top down; it is already sorted by how much time each fix returns.
Two things that quietly skew results. Run it in an Incognito window, because extensions inject scripts into the page and get counted against your score. And run it three times — a single run varies by several points on its own, so take the middle result rather than the best one.
Nothing on this page contacts Google. The evaluation above is scored in your browser from your own answers, and the audit here happens entirely inside Chrome on your computer.
